Our Vision:
To provide quality education that’s based on the Ministry of Education, Ontario Curriculum Guidelines and integrated with the Canada Hindu Heritage Center’s Curriculum on Cultural and Spiritual Values which are important in helping children realize their full potential.
Classes to be opened at this time for Pre-Kindergarten for children three years old and Kindergarten for children 4 to 6 years old.
Pre-Kindergarten: The Pre- Kindergarten program is a preparatory program that prepares the child for kindergarten. Certain aspects of the kindergarten curriculum would be used in the pre-kindergarten level and used as an enrichment kindergarten program. This is so important to the development of young minds, since most of a child’s brain is developed by the age of three. This is what the “Ohio” State University has to say about how a you child mind develops:
“In 1994, the Carnegie Corporation of New York released the report Starting Points: Meeting the Needs of Young Children. It documented the literature on development and concluded "how children function from the preschool years all the way through adolescence, and even adulthood, hinges in large part on their experience before the age of three." We've learned that because the brain is remarkably unfinished at birth, these early experiences actually affect the way a child's brain becomes "wired." Relationships with parents and caregivers, the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings children experience, and the challenges they meet all help determine the structure of the brain. Hence the reason the Canada Hindu Heritage Center is embarking on such a venture. We believe that there are very few institutions out there that cater to the social and cultural needs of our young children on a day-to-day basis.
Kindergarten: The Kindergarten program would include Junior and Senior Kindergarten. It is based on the Ministry of Education, Ontario Curriculum Guidelines and integrated with the Canada Hindu Heritage Centre’s Curriculum on Cultural and Spiritual Values. While following the Ministry of Education guidelines, students will also learn about their heritage both culturally and socially. They will learn life skills in the form of value development; they will learn mediation and devotion to God through shlokas (prayers) and bhajans; and they will learn about their cultural festivals and celebrations.
Immediate Goals:
To see the successful launch of our school and everyone coming together with one unified vision to make it happen.
Once the launch is successful, to ensure the smooth running of the school.
Future Goals:
-To envision potential growth of the Mississauga Hindu School with each up-coming year by growing and providing quality education from pre-kindergarten to grade 12.
-With the growth of our school we will need to find a new and permanent home to house the Mississauga Hindu School.
Why come to Mississauga Hindu School, Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten classes:
- Low teacher to student ratios of: 1 to 10 better able to take care of the individual needs of the children. The public elementary school ratio is 1 to 18+ as the case may be.
